Adrian Collett has been a local councillor since he was first elected to Hart Council in 1980, where he served until he retired in 1992
to concentrate on other things. In May 2011 he was re-elected to Hart representing Blackwater & Hawley.
He was first elected to Yateley Town Council in 1983 and has represented Yateley, Frogmore and Darby Green on Hampshire County Council
since 1985.
Adrian has chaired the Environment Committee and the Finance & Policy Committee of the Town Council. He has also chaired the Blackwater Valley
Countryside Partnership, which looks after the Blackwater River and the countryside surrounding it, since 1993. He is Vice Chair of Hampshire Police Authority.
Adrian was the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Aldershot Constituency, which includes Frogmore & Darby Green, and at one time covered
the whole of Yateley as well, from 1990 to 2010. In that time he has seen the Conservative majority reduce from 19,188 in 1992 to just 5,586 in 2010.
Adrian is married to Pam and has two step-children, Emma and Robert, and two step grand-children, Tabitha and Molly. |
