Stuart is the current deputy leader of the council. He also represents the Yateley East ward on Hart District council, is a board member of Hart Housing Association and sits on the Hart District Standards committee.

A Yateley resident for 21 years Stuart is an active member of
St. Peters church, he is married to Faith and their two sons attend local schools.
